Concrete wall reinforcement configurations at a wall thickness transition accommodate both offsets greater than six inches and offsets less than or equal to six inches. Vertical reinforcement transitions use dowels matched to the vertical reinforcement size and spacing from above, extended down to the level below or hooked at the top of the wall. A number four tie matches the vertical reinforcement spacing at the slab location where it occurs. Offsets are dimensioned with a minimum of one and one-half inches and a maximum of four inches. Lap lengths are governed by the shear wall reinforcement notes, with additional information provided on the plan and wall elevations.
