A buckling-restrained brace connects to a thick base plate and gusset plate assembly anchored atop a concrete foundation. The base plate rests over a grout layer with designated grout holes and is secured by multiple vertical anchor rods extending deep into the concrete. Four number 9 U-bars in each direction of Grade 80 reinforcement are placed within the foundation. A brace blockout and floor datum establish the surrounding concrete profile, while the gusset plate size is cross-referenced to sheet S3-121.
