This foundation detail shows the required clearance for a backfilled utility trench running parallel to a concrete footing. The trench must maintain a minimum horizontal distance of two feet from the edge of the footing, with pipe sizing and specifications coordinated per civil drawings. The bottom of the trench must remain above a line projected outward and downward from the bottom of the footing at a two-to-one slope.
