Metal decking conditions at steel beam supports for overhangs of one foot one inch or less and two feet nine inches or less. A continuous bent closure plate is extended and lapped over the steel beam, with the bottom of the closure plate kept flush with the top of the steel beam. Metal decking continues across the support and is secured with parallel-to-support puddle welds per schedule. Fillet welds size one-eighth inch at two to twelve inches spacing connect the closure plate to the beam. For interior deck edges at duct shaft openings, a gauge bent closure plate may be substituted for the typical closure plate.
