A bolted beam-to-girder connection utilizes a shear plate welded to the girder web and bolted to the supported beam web. The supported beam can be of the same depth or shallower than the main girder, positioned within specified maximum clearance distances from the girder centerline. Columns of high-strength bolts fasten the web connection plate according to the structural schedule, maintaining standard edge distances and AISC 'K' distance clearances. Typical fillet welds secure the connection plate to the supporting girder web.
