A structural steel truss connection joins a truss web to a truss chord using a two-inch ASTM A572 Grade 50 gusset plate. Additional reinforcement includes 7/8 inch by 7-1/2 inch by 1 foot 5 inch plates on each side of the web, welded with five-sixteenths and seven-sixteenths fillet welds on three sides typically. A two-inch by seventeen-inch plate features a slot one-eighth inch maximum wider than the gusset plate. Fillet welds of various sizes secure the intersecting web members to the chord and gusset assembly.
