The splice connects two wide-flange column segments aligned along their centerlines with the joint located four feet above the top of the slab. The web connection uses one-half-inch web plates on each side secured by eight ASTM A325 slip-critical bolts per the schedule. The flange connections incorporate outside flange plates sized according to the flange width and thickness with eight slip-critical bolts, alongside inside flange plates and single filler plates added as required on each side. Bolt spacing follows standard vertical increments of three inches with one-and-one-half-inch edge distances.
