A cast-in-place concrete pit features wall and base thicknesses of eight inches unless noted otherwise, with a maximum interior width of four feet and a maximum depth of four feet unless noted otherwise. Wall and base reinforcement consists of number four bars at twelve inches on center each way, centered in the wall as typical. Continuous number four reinforcing bars run horizontally at the top and bottom corners. A metal grating is supported across the top opening on a structural angle or recess.
