A reinforced concrete beam section contains ten number nine vertical bars arranged in two rows of five. The assembly is reinforced with number four ties and hairpins spaced at six inches on center typical. Transverse spacing between bars is limited to eight inches maximum typical. A three-quarter inch clear cover is maintained from the outside cast downface of the concrete element.
