Existing wood joists and wood scabs connect to a concrete or masonry wall using hold-down units spaced at sixteen inches on center. A continuous strap is specified per plan to tie the framing into the wall assembly. Threaded anchors secure the hardware into the masonry backup. The wood joists feature added scabs for structural reinforcement.
