Framing reinforcement required for a round or square opening up to nine inches in diameter cut through a 1 1/2-inch Type HSB roof deck low flute. An L2x2x3/16 angle spans beneath the opening, centered on the low flute and extending a minimum of two flutes beyond each side of the opening. Two number 10 self-drilling screws secure the deck to the angle at each low flute on each side of the opening, maintaining a one-quarter inch minimum clearance.
