A CoreBrace buckling-restrained brace connects to a structural steel column and foundation at the strong axis. A gusset plate of thickness tg is welded to the column and base plate, transferring lateral loads into the concrete foundation. Stiffener plates are provided near side and far side as required by the manufacturer. A concrete block-out surrounds the base of the column at the slab-on-grade intersection, while anchor bolts and base plate details are referenced on elevations.
