The assembly connects a structural steel beam sized per plan to a hanger sized per elevation via intermediate steel plates. Two three-eighths-inch by six-inch by zero-foot-eight-inch plates and two one-quarter-inch by five-inch by zero-foot-eight-inch plates form the connection assembly. Two five-eighths-inch diameter ASTM A325 bolts secure the members through the plate assembly with pre-determined dimensional spacings. Three-sixteenths-inch typical fillet welds join the steel components together.
