Stiffener plates are welded to the column flanges with typical corner clips and specified minimum dimensions. A gusset plate connects centrally to the column web and flanges, featuring a transition taper with a typical one-inch radius. Welds develop the full capacity of the stiffener plates per structural notes. Where beam flanges exceed the space between column flanges, transition details apply.
