Round or square openings through a three-inch Type N roof deck are centered on a low flute with a maximum diameter of eleven inches. The structural reinforcement consists of L2x2x3/16 angle sections secured with two number ten self-drilling screws at each low flute on each side of the opening. These reinforcing angles extend a minimum of two flutes beyond the opening on each side, maintaining a quarter-inch minimum clearance.
