A non-load-bearing masonry wall connects to a concrete slab edge using an L4x3x5/16-inch structural angle measuring zero feet nine inches long with long leg vertical, welded to a bent plate designated as PL1/4x1'-3" at S1 with three-sixteenths-inch fillet welds at each end. Two one-half-inch diameter expansion anchors with three-and-one-quarter-inch embedment spaced at one foot zero inches on center secure the bent plate to the underside of the concrete slab. A typical top-of-wall gap is provided below the slab edge, and a bond beam is incorporated into the top of the concrete masonry unit wall. An alternate flat plate with two welded angles is permitted at the contractor's option, and angles are centered between expansion anchors when nominal wall thickness exceeds eight inches.
