A six-inch concrete mechanical pad sits directly above a wide flange steel beam and metal deck. The assembly includes a six-inch concrete curb at the wide flange beam reinforced with continuous number four top and bottom bars. Number four A706 reinforcing bars with standard hooks are spaced at twelve inches on center where parallel to the beam, with two provided where perpendicular. Rigid insulation with a one point zero psi minimum rating fills the space above the metal deck. A quarter-inch fillet weld secures the connection at the steel beam.
