Steel column panel zone reinforced with a doubler plate attached to the column web and flanges with welded connections. A double plate may be provided on either side of the column web at the contractor's option. Weld sizes match the doubler plate thickness minus one-eighth inch with a one-quarter inch minimum. Shear plates connect intersecting beams where they occur. Column splices and weld access holes are detailed per structural notes and AISC standards.
