A W12 beam and a W8 beam frame into a hollow structural section column sized per plan. One-half-inch-thick plates are welded to the top and bottom of the column connection zone. A W8x67 section cut to fit acts as a transverse member with a one-half-inch-thick stiffener plate. A quarter-inch fillet weld connects the beam to the column and plate assembly typically.
