A structural steel core member is enclosed within a casing and terminated at each end with a gusset plate featuring multiple bolt holes. The assembly is symmetrical about its centerline, indicated by overall length dimensions for both the casing and bolt-hole spacing. A one-eighth-inch seal weld is specified along the joint between the casing and the internal steel components.
