A hollow structural section brace connects to a concrete wall per plan via a one-half-inch thick gusset plate. The gusset plate is welded to an embedded plate with a working point aligned at the wall face. The HSS brace is slotted over the gusset plate and secured with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds of four-inch length. Stud anchors embedded in the concrete wall provide anchorage for the connection assembly.
