This assembly features a steel column encased in a concrete pier, positioned directly against a stem wall. The column is reinforced with three number four ties and a number four dowel at each corner, which includes a hook extending into the footing. A minimum three-inch concrete cover is maintained at the column corners. The slab on grade is cast around the column encasement.
