A 4x6 wood blocking sits between truss purlins with two rows of nailing at standard spacing, increasing to four lines when staggered or six lines where three lines are required. The blocking is secured using a quarter-inch by four-inch by seven-inch steel plate on each side, located two feet from each side of the truss purlins. Two three-quarter-inch diameter through bolts with a four-inch gauge connect the side plates to the blocking. A one-quarter-inch fillet weld secures the assembly to the truss girder.
