A cable brace connects to an overhead steel framing member using a five-by-five-inch by five-sixteenth-inch steel plate welded with a three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld. A two-inch square by quarter-inch washer plate and a galvanized heavy wire rope thimble secure the cable end. Two Crosby G-450 red U-bolt clips complying with ASME B30.26 fasten the wire rope loop. A three-eighth-inch diameter A307 bolt passes through the plate connection.
