The assembly features a structural steel beam framing over a wide-flange column topped with a three-quarter-inch thick cap plate sized to match the column flange width plus one inch by the column depth plus one inch. The connection is secured using four three-quarter-inch diameter bolts installed at the beam gage. Three-eighths-inch thick partial-height stiffener plates are welded to both sides of the column, matching the beam flange width and aligned with the column flanges. A perpendicular beam connection is detailed per specification 05210 using a shear tab extended to the bottom flange. Fillet welds of one-quarter-inch size connect the components typical throughout the assembly.
