A concrete sump pit is detailed with reinforced walls and base slab incorporating number four reinforcing bars at nine inches on center each way. An L3x2x3/16 angle is anchored to the pit wall with two half-inch diameter expansion bolts at twelve inches on center along all four sides to support a grating. The adjacent concrete slab slopes toward the sump pit with a minimum depth of one foot six inches and maintains standard concrete clearances.
