A low steel beam frames into a steel hollow structural section column supported by an L5x3x1/4 long-leg-horizontal seat angle cut to the column width. The seat angle connects to the column and beam web with a one-quarter inch typical fillet weld. An additional one-quarter inch typical fillet weld secures the top flange of the beam to the column face.
