The stair stringers bear against a double two-by top plate and are fastened with A35 framing anchors spaced at sixteen inches on center maximum. A two-by rim joist attaches to each stringer using four sixteen-penny nails. The landing structure consists of three-quarter-inch plywood over landing joists supported by Simpson U hangers. The supporting wall is framed with two-by-six studs at sixteen inches on center with midheight blocking and three-eighths-inch APA rated sheathing fastened with eight-penny nails at four, six, and twelve inches.
