An HSS12x10 structural steel member connects to an HSS24x12 column through a half-inch thick end plate sized per plan. The connection is detailed with a 5/16-inch fillet weld at the bottom and both sides, along with 3/8-inch fillet welds securing the top interface. The top of steel elevation is located as shown on the structural plans.
