The existing concrete slab on grade edge is prepared by roughening the concrete surface to a one-quarter inch amplitude. New epoxy-grouted dowels matching the new slab reinforcement are anchored into the existing slab. The new concrete slab on grade is placed directly against the prepared joint with size four bars at twelve inches spacing provided for other conditions unless otherwise noted.
