A steel framing connection joins structural steel beams to a hollow structural section column using a slot shear tab that passes through the column web. The shear tab is welded to the hollow structural section column with a welded joint sized per schedule 6 on sheet S1.04 plus one-sixteenth inch. The supported steel beams attach to the shear tab with bolted connections featuring two rows of bolts. The number and size of bolts in the first row are determined per note 2, and the number of additional bolts in the second row matches the first row. The top of steel elevation is coordinated per plan.
