Two related structural details for a steel braced frame column comprise a column baseplate configuration and a surrounding control joint plan layout. The baseplate consists of a Grade 50 steel plate secured with two-and-one-quarter-inch-diameter A354 Grade BD tension anchor bolts and three-quarter-inch by five-inch by five-inch plate washers. Complete joint penetration welds connect the components, with infill concrete designated to be cast after the column base plate has been grouted. The control joint detail incorporates number four trim reinforcing bars centered within the surrounding concrete assembly, maintaining a typical two-inch clearance.
