Additional connection plates include seven-eighths-by-seven-and-a-half-inch by one-foot-five-inch A572 Grade 50 plates on each side of the chord, and a half-inch by nine-inch full-depth A572 Grade 50 plate on each side of the truss web. Fillet welds of five-sixteenths and seven-sixteenths inch size secure the connection elements, with three sides typically welded as indicated on the drawing. A one-inch clearance is maintained between intersecting members, and a slotted connection allows one-eighth inch maximum tolerance wider than the gusset plate.
