A pressure-treated 4x Douglas Fir No. 1 or 3-1/2 inch parallel strand lumber shaped wood sleeper, fire-treated as required per architecture, fastens to a metal deck. A 3/4-inch diameter welded threaded stud anchors the mechanical unit at 24 inches on center and within 12 inches of ends, with a minimum of two studs per side opening. Number 12 wood screws provide connection with a 2-inch minimum penetration at 4 inches on center and within 4 inches of ends, with a minimum of three per side. Where the deck runs continuous, a gauge plate is provided for deck connection per plan requirements.
