A wide-flange beam connects to a wider wide-flange girder where the girder depth exceeds the beam depth. Top and bottom plates reference the schedule, with the top plate width set to the flange width minus one and one-half inches and the bottom plate width set to the flange width plus one and one-half inches. A shear plate with erection bolts as required connects the web, referenced to the schedule. Complete-joint-penetration welds are specified as typical for shop or field execution.
