A buckling-restrained braced frame base plate connection is anchored by four two-inch-diameter ASTM F1554 Grade 105 anchor rods. The column base incorporates embed washer plates measuring five-eighths by four by four inches with standard holes, welded with edge plates on near and far sides. Flanges and web of the column are connected to the embed plate using complete joint penetration welds with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds. General notes specify tightening anchor rod nuts only after washer plate welds are complete, and note that dimension 'd' is determined by the buckling-restrained brace manufacturer.
