This partition head assembly details a shaftwall running parallel to a corrugated steel deck. The framing consists of CH-shaped studs and 1-inch gypsum liner panels, finished with 5/8-inch gypsum board layers per the wall type schedule. The deflection track is bedded in a continuous bead of acoustical sealant and secured below a steel plate attached to the deck. Sound attenuation insulation fills the top of the cavity, and smoke and acoustical sealant are applied to both sides at the deck interface.
