A steel beam frames into a supporting steel member with a bolted shear connection, maintaining a one-inch clearance at the slab edge. A steel joist or beam connects on the opposite side, requiring a full-depth stiffener plate opposite the one-sided connection when framing occurs on only one side. Concrete over metal floor deck bears adjacent to a metal roof deck with a specified deck bearing angle. Fillet welds are detailed at one-quarter inch spaced at three to twelve inches.
