A new hollow structural section collector is secured above an existing roof deck using a plate referenced from plan for size and connection. The assembly attaches through the roof deck into the underlying structure using number twelve Drillflex screws spaced at six inches on center. An existing open joist or plate runs beneath the roof deck to complete the vertical support assembly.
