A hollow structural section beam frames into a channel per plan with a maximum one-half-inch gap maintained at the connection. A three-eighths-inch by four-inch by zero-foot-four-inch plate connects to the channel per plan, supplemented by a one-quarter-inch by three-inch by zero-foot-six-inch plate on each side. Three-sixteenths-inch fillet welds are specified typically on near side and far side as shown. An angle per plan ties into the assembly with corresponding weld callouts. A note indicates that the landing is omitted for clarity.
