A wide flange beam frames into a wide flange column using a shop-welded and field-bolted shear tab connection. A 3/8-inch by 13-inch plate connects to the beam web with four 1-inch diameter A325SC bolts in 1 1/8-inch diameter holes. A minimum 1/4-inch cap plate is welded at the top of the column where required using 1/4-inch fillet welds on three sides. Five-sixteenths inch fillet welds secure the shear tab assembly.
