A concrete slab on metal deck runs perpendicular to an exterior precast concrete wall, supported by a steel framing beam. The assembly ties into the precast panel using a three-eighths-inch by seven-and-a-half-inch continuous bent plate welded to a vertical three-eighths-inch by four-inch continuous plate embedded in the wall. Connection hardware features one-half-inch diameter by five-inch long headed studs spaced at twelve inches on center, staggered with vertical placement. An out-of-plane lateral connection by the precast manufacturer incorporates a three-and-a-half-inch minimum horizontal slotted hole providing a two-kip out-of-plane reaction with three-quarters of an inch of clearance, leaving the connection free of vertical or in-plane support. Fillet welds of one-quarter-inch size at three-inch to twelve-inch spacing secure the steel components as specified on the drawings.
