A horizontal cold-formed metal stud frames into a continuous track matching the size and gauge of the cold-formed steel joist, which bears against an HSS column sized per plan. The framing members are fastened with number 10 sheet metal screws spaced at 4 inches on center typically. Powder-driven fasteners from Hilti model X-U or Simpson model PDPA are installed in pairs at 6 inches on center with a minimum point penetration of 1/2 inch into the steel column typically.
