A metal curb supporting a mechanical unit connects perpendicular to the flutes of a metal deck bearing on a steel beam. A six-by-eight flat pressure-treated wood member with notches at the metal deck flutes serves as a wood sill plate. Wood splices occur as needed along the wood member. Fasteners and clips secure the assembly with specified six-inch minimum and twelve-inch maximum spacing.
