Two options exist for splicing steel closure angles at butt joints. The first method utilizes a 3/16" fillet weld on both sides of the butt joint to connect the closure angle segments. The second method employs a splice plate centered over the butt joint, secured with 3/16" fillet welds. At wall corners, the closure angle is bent at the midpoint to maintain continuity. Closure angle sizes are determined by the project sections.
