A sixteen millimeter thick gusset plate connects a diagonal brace to a structural steel column and beam assembly. The gusset plate is welded to the column with a ten millimeter fillet weld and to the beam with a ten millimeter fillet weld, while the brace connects to the gusset plate with a ten millimeter weld. A shear cleat connection joins the beam to the column flange using three bolts. A composite metal deck with shear studs is shown above the framing members.
