An extended concrete slab step is formed over polystyrene insulation and supported by structural steel framing. The assembly features continuous number 4 top and bottom reinforcing bars with hooked ends, supplemented by number 4 bars spaced at eight inches on center vertically and number 4 bars at twelve inches on center at the step transition. The concrete slab bears on a structural steel beam at the lower elevation with typical deck support details per plan. A secondary steel beam aligns with the centerline of the upper slab transition as indicated on structural plans.
