A stair stringer connects to a steel column sized per plan, topped with a steel cap plate sized per the column schedule with bolt holes omitted. A one-quarter-inch closure plate seals the end with three-sixteenth-inch typical fillet welds. Three-eighth-inch by nine-inch by zero-foot-four-inch steel plates are welded on each side with one-quarter-inch typical fillet welds. A concrete over metal floor deck extends beyond, sized per plan.
