A two-inch layer of polystyrene insulation is installed continuously under the slab on grade and vertically along the temporary shoring wall within the zone of influence. The temporary shoring wall is provided by the contractor and runs adjacent to existing BART transit tunnels. The detail coordinates the foundation slab, core wall, and basement wall elements relative to the zone of influence line.
