Concrete is poured over metal deck running perpendicular to a wide-flange beam. Headed shear studs are welded through the metal deck into the top flange of the wide-flange beam in the low flutes of the deck. Deck reinforcement is placed within the concrete slab above the deck according to the project schedule. The wide-flange beam size and concrete fill are sized per the structural plans.
